This is my craftsman style home office I built in 2004. Some of the features are inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright with some are my own ideas.
This is my home office at my Tyler house. I do my thinking work designing products and writing software at home because there are too many distractions at work.
I started by converting the 2-car garage into a room and hallway - framing, electrical, insulation, sheet-rock, texture, paint, flooring. Then I bought $1000 worth of red oak and did the trim, shelves, light fixtures and ceiling features.
The light-fixtures are inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie house and the art-glass ceiling panels by the Willits house. The ceiling treatment is red-oak scraps left over from the wall trim and shelving. I did all the work myself except I had help from a sheet-rocker at the end.
