12/06 Hi Roger: It's been quite awhile since I've 'talked' to you. After Matt and I left Stanford and went back to our normal lives, he in CA, and myself in TX, we pretty much got back into the daily routines of life and work. First, I want to thank you for your incredible support to me during those long, anxious days of pre/post surgery. You and God made it possible for me to know what to expect and to have a sense of peace and tranquility. The four hours Matt was in surgery, I felt a real peace and knew all would be ok. You have a blessing in giving so much of yourself so that others going through the surgery and their loved ones, know exactly what to expect. When I first saw Matt in ICU after the surgery, I knew his face would be wrapped and swollen, because of your pictures, and let me to know that was normal. Matt had another sleep study done a few weeks ago, and the results revealed the surgery was completely successful. I am in California to be with Matt and my cousins for Christmas. I saw Matt last night for the first time since surgery. I had all my birthday, Christmas, and Mother's Day gifts all in one, for the rest of my life, standing before me. He looked so healthy and happy and refreshed, and his entire persona completely changed. We had so many people praying for Matt, and I know through his healing, we received a true miracle. Matthew means Gift of God, and it has taken on a new meaning for us. Second, I can't thank you enough for making the entire situation a wonderful and peaceful process. Roger, you and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers and my heart. May God continue to bless you in abundance, and your Christmas be enriched with His love and joy. Merry Christmas and much love, Carol
